Noosa’s extensive reef system starts with Sunshine Reef around 3km offshore and extends 45km to the Barwon Banks.

Excellent opportunities exist for catches of quality reef species all year round, with Black Marlin, sailfish and mackerel a bonus in the summer.

Noosa River is a very popular fishing spot. At the mouth of the river the area known as the Frying Pan is one of the best producers of fish in the river system on a year round basis.

The rock walls and the river mouth are good places on run out tides Chase bream, whiting, flathead and mangrove jack in season.

The Munna Point Bridge at Noosa Sound is also popular.

For local knowledge call into the local bait & tackle stores or take a fishing tour.
